CompCensus  is a company located in Boston, U.S.A. that is building a website for people to compare occupational statistics from around the world.

Challenge

CompCensus approached us and asked if we could come up with a way to make sharing and researching information fun for the user. Basically, they needed some gamification elements to their website.

Solution

Our solution was to come up with a hexagonal badge system that would reward the user (with a shiny new badge) and also as act as a visual representation of information rather than boring text or charts.

The Result

This was exactly what CompCensus was looking for and really took to the idea. Hexagons can make some interesting layouts and the badges would help to movitate people to build up their interactivity with the website. The collection of data is dependant on the users, so earning these sleek “Hex Badges” had a maximum effect for minimal effort.
